Based on old twisted stitch motifs from Austria, these socks are a combination of tulips and staggered chains of windows. They are worked cuff down, with simplified patterning on the heel flap, and tulips all the way to the tip of the toe. Coordinates with Alpenhorn fingerless mitts.

Yarn: Fingering weight sock yarn.
Model: Posh Yarn Elinor, 100% merino, 400 yards (366 meters) in 100 grams.
Gauge: 8 sts in stockinette and 11 sts in st pattern (relaxed) to 1 inch (2.5 cm) in the round.
Needles: US 1.5 (2.5 mm), or size required to get gauge.
Finished size: Women's medium; approximate foot circumference: 8 inches (20.5 cm).
